I completed my B COM (RAU) during 1993, my LLB (RAU) during 1995 and my LLM (RAU) during 1996. I did my articles at a small Johannesburg firm, completed them in May of 1998 and was simultaneously admitted as an attorney.

On the 28th of May 1998, I left the firm I had done my articles at and started my own firm being A.I.José Attorneys. In April of 1999, I was granted the right of Appearance in the High Court. In March of 2002, I joined forces with Rudi van Niekerk and formed José & Van Niekerk Incorporated. On the 1st of June 2011, Rudi van Niekerk and I decided to go our separate ways and I formed Alan José Incorporated as the firm is today.  Effectively I have now been running my own law firm for 20 years.

During 2005 I completed a fully accredited Mediation Course and have been dedicated to family mediations ever since. I was on the South African Association of Mediators (SAAM) executive board for a few years before stepping down to spend more time doing pro bono mediations.

My fields of preference are Family Law (and all that entails), Mediations, Insolvency Law, Contract drafting and Corporate Law.

For me, as a family man, combining professionalism with a personal/human approach is crucial.

I am a member as well as the Treasurer of the Gauteng Family Law Forum, which was established in 2016

I am also a trained collaborate Law attorney.

I started working at a law firm in Northcliff from January 1996 up until April of 2008. I started initially as an admin clerk and worked myself up to the head of a department.

Shortly after I left the company in April 2008, I started working for José & Van Niekerk Incorporated as Alan José’s Personal Assistant. On the 1st of June 2011, Alan José Incorporated was formed and I carried on working for Alan José as his Personal Assistant.  I enjoy working for Alan José Incorporated, and also learned a lot through the years, and am still learning more every day.

At Alan José Inc we place a lot of emphasis on the family and as a mother of two myself, this is very important to me.  We are always there for our clients

I completed my LLB degree cum laude in 2006 at the North West University. I did my articles at a firm in Krugersdorp and was admitted as an attorney in March 2008.

I joined José & Van Niekerk in July 2008 and gained experience in family law, insolvency law and general litigation.

In 2011 I left José & Van Niekerk and spent some time living and travelling abroad.

In 2016 I joined Alan José Incorporated and I am involved in family law, insolvency law and general litigation.

I started working at a Law Firm in Northcliff during January 2005 until August 2008, where I was part of the Debtor’s team in the Administration Department.  During August 2007 I was promoted to the Financial Department as a Junior Bookkeeper.  There I gained experience in bookkeeping and specifically for a Law Practice.

With this experience, I joined the firm of Jose & Van Niekerk Inc during November 2008 as the Bookkeeper and Office Manager.  The Firm split during May 2011 and Alan Jose approached me to join his firm, Alan Jose Incorporated, which I duly did from June 2011.  I am still part of the Alan Jose Incorporated team as Bookkeeper and Office Manager.  I have enjoyed every day of it and will find it very hard to ever leave this team.

I like working at Alan Jose Incorporated, as we are a driven team, with excellent morals, very family orientated and practices professionalism at all times.  We strive to assist everyone in the best manner we possibly can.

Shortly after completing my matric in 2016, I started working at a Call Center in Randburg where I was a Feedback Service Consultant for commercial banks. I later moved to another Call center in Illovo, Sandton, where I worked as a Sales Consultant marketing female cancer policies. In June 2018, I had the honor to join the Alan Jose Incorporated-team, when I was employed as the firm’s receptionist/secretary.    I get to learn about the law, office administration and all the factors of Corporate - and Family Law on a daily basis.

I am truly blessed to be working at Alan Jose Incorporated, as it expands my legal knowledge in the business world and I get to learn something new and different every day.  It is truly a great privilege  to be part of such a warm, welcoming team.  I am exploring the possibilities of studying Paralegal Studies to enhance my knowledge about the law.

I hold an LLB degree completed in 2016 (with distinction) and an LLM degree in Corporate Law completed in 2017 (with distinction), both of which I obtained from Wits University. I’m currently a Candidate Attorney at the firm.

I joined the firm to pursue my articles as a Candidate Attorney soon after completing my studies in 2018. I have quite a number of vastly experienced attorneys to look up to during my articles at the firm. Since joining the firm, I get exposed to various legal matters including family, insolvency and contractual issues on a daily basis. The firm also provides an invaluable platform for me to gain practical experience of the procedures of several courts in Gauteng and surroundings.
